  1. What are Heartland Daycare’s hours?
We are open from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday. All dropoffs and pickups must occur within these hours.
  2. How do you track who comes into and out of the daycare facility?
Parents and authorized adults must accompany children into and out of the daycare and must sign children in and out using the log sheet system. Parents/guardians are encouraged to keep routine arrival and departure schedules. We ask that all parents/guardians utilize the main entrance at the northeast end (the front) of the building.
  3. Will you help my child prepare for kindergarten?
It is Heartland Daycare’s philosophy that children mature to reach their growth potential when they are provided with a stimulating, inviting and loving environment. Your child will be involved in activities that will enrich their social, emotional, and physical growth every day. Learning experiences in art, music, dramatic play, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and basic readiness for kindergarten will be provided.
  4. Do I need to bring food for my child?
Heartland Daycare will provide all food and drinks. Heartland will provide a light breakfast, a mid-morning snack, a full lunch, and an afternoon snack.  Breakfast is served from 7:30 am until 8:15 am, mid-morning snack is at 10 am, lunch is at 12 pm and afternoon snack is at 3 pm. Monthly lunch and snack menus are posted by the front door for you to review at any time.
(NOTE: Infants under one year of age are fed according to their individual needs.)
  5. Can I provide my own food for my child?
Let your teacher know in advance if a special occasion arises and you wish to bring in a snack for the classroom. Treats must be store-bought and in the original package.
  6. How does Heartland Daycare accommodate breastfeeding?
Heartland Daycare believes that allowing you to nurse and/or provide breastmilk to infants improves health and productivity of you and your child. If you choose to come to the daycare to breastfeed your infant, we will provide a private area out of sight of others. We can provide privacy and a place to safely sit with your infant. If you choose to breastfeed or provide expressed breastmilk for your child, you will be provided appropriate accommodations in accordance with Section 4207 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
  7. Will my child have a nap time?
Naps and rest will be provided in a quiet area after lunch and ends around 2-2:30 pm. Children are expected to rest quietly for a minimum of 30 minutes. Children not sleeping after 30 minutes will be allowed to do quiet activities. Parents / guardians should provide a blanket and pillow and plan to take them home on the last scheduled day of the week to be laundered and returned.
